History Brief:
Settled about 1710 as part of Massacoe, the Court established the northeast corner of "Symsbury" as the Turkey Hills Parish in October 1736. It was enlarged with land taken from Windsor in 1737. The Town of Granby, including most of what is now East Granby, was incorporated in 1786, and East Granby was set off and, along with a portion of Windsor Locks, was incorporated as a town on 2 June 1858. Town vital records begin 1858. Historical Society established 1976.
